Losing Belly Fat for Better Health.

Okay, so losing belly fat is a great way to feel better about ourselves, but it has another advantage that many people don’t know about. You see having excess belly fat is bad for our health, and I’m about to tell you why.

There have been scientific studies that have shown having excess body fat to be detrimental to our health. That much you probably know. However, did you know that having fat on your stomach affects your health the most? It’s true.

There are basically two types of body fat. The first is the one we see. It simply covers our abs. It’s called subcutaneous fat. It lies directly beneath the skin.

The other type of fat is called visceral fat, and it lies deeper in the abdomen beneath the muscles. It also surrounds the organs. This type of fat gives men that beer belly that sticks out, yet is somewhat firm.

Both types of fat pose health risks. Visceral fat is a bit more dangerous though. You’d be amazed at some of the health problems having these types of fat can cause. Some examples of potential health problems are increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, sleep apnea, various forms of cancer, and other degenerative diseases.

Sounds a bit dangerous doesn’t it? Now, you can see why losing belly fat is so important, not just for looks, but for overall health.

So, how do you go about losing that dangerous belly fat? Well, don’t look for an easy way out. Don’t take fat loss pills, buy the newest ab machine, or anything of that sort. A solid diet plan emphasizing unprocessed natural foods and a decent exercise program will work best for long-term results.

I don’t believe in “diets” so to speak, but rather eating more healthy. Choosing the right foods is of utmost importance. Also, an effective workout plan can make it much easier to lose fat. Forget crunches, sit-ups, and other low-fat-burning exercises. They don’t do much to burn fat.
