Foods for Fat Loss: Restaurant Secrets.
If you enjoy eating out every now and then, but are also trying to either lose weight or watch your weight, here are some foods for fat loss that will help. Many people gain weight from eating out because they are eating the wrong foods. Foods that will sabotage their efforts to lose weight!
Okay, so you go out to a restaurant and what do you order? Well, first off let me mention what you should avoid.
Here are some foods that you may wish to avoid. First off, deep fried foods (includes anything battered). These are usually loaded with trans fats. Next, refined starchy foods. Finally, sodas, juices (real fruit is okay), and other sugary foods. I'll give some examples in a minute.
These foods are usually bad because they contain things like trans fats, refined vegetable oils, refined starchy carbohydrates, and processed sugars. They might not all be "bad" foods, but they will not help your weight loss efforts.
Some examples of foods to avoid include: table bread, french fries, pasta, and rice. The last two, pasta and rice, and necessary unhealthy, but they usually give it to you in large doses, and you'd be better off with a healthy alternative. Plus, you never know what they put on it to make it taste better.
So, what can we order that is healthy? Well, here are some examples. If you order meat that comes with a side dish, instead of getting fries or chips, get a side salad or vegetables.
As far as drinks go, instead of a soda or sweetened drink, try to get unsweetened iced tea or water. And remember that "diet" drinks are NOT health foods, so avoid any soda if possible.
Never eat at fast-food restaurants either. The only exception might be if you are on a trip and have no choice. I have actually lost the taste for fast-food. After eating "real" food for so long, I have a hard time going back.
You can still eat large portions of pasta and rice, but only right after an intense workout. Otherwise, you are at risk of gaining unwanted weight. That's why I put it on the banned list a second ago. When I say "intense" workout, I don't mean a light walk or a few crunches. I mean an actual workout.
Anyway, with these foods off your list, you are not only eating fewer calories, but you are eating healthier as well. We are avoiding things like trans fats and high fructose corn syrup. Avoiding fries and soft drinks alone will help with that.
So, there you have it, foods for fat loss at restaurants. And Remember, if you embarrassed about the way you look, you don't have to tell people that you are trying to lose weight. Instead, you can simply say that you are trying to eat "healthier."
